Spooky Hollows

Having carved out a niche for itself in the Van Nuys haunt scene, Spooky Hollows is a veteran home attraction that has been running for years and is still going strong. This is a good spot for Valley haunt crawlers and those looking to find something different.

A family-run haunt, Spooky Hollows is an excellent choice for those who are looking for a more fun, less scary experience than the average home haunt. Its creative theme and fantastic characters make this a must-see for any Halloween fan!

The Front Yard Cemetery

This family-run home haunt has a lovely front yard cemetery, complete with skeletal horses, ghosts, and more. If you aren't afraid of a decent line, this is the perfect place to visit on Halloween night!

Swamp Theme

Rather than the red and amber colors that most haunts use, this residential house takes guests to the deep dark underbelly of the world. The greenish hues of the swamp's mossy foliage and the streaks of neon paint that glow under blacklight make it look more like a haunted wilderness than anything else!

The Backyard Swamp Area

The back of the property is a swampy area with lots of bogs and trees. It's a great place for kids and adults alike to explore, as you'll never know what lurks in the depths.

If you're planning on visiting this house, it's best to arrive early! The parking lot can fill up quickly, so try to park near the street and walk the rest of the way in.

Animated Ghouls Outside

This spooky home/yard display puts on a fun show every five minutes, featuring three animated ghouls singing and dancing. It's a fun show to watch with your little ones, and there's even a kids' play area to keep them busy as you wait in line.

Haunted Museum at Home: Slime Lab

If your kids are into science, they'll love this house/yard display in Burbank. This year's Haunted Museum at Home: Slime lab features live Spider Q&A sessions, a pumpkin carving paleontologist, a slime story competition between mad scientists, and much more!

Guests can also build their own slime, which they'll then pour into a giant bowl and share with others. They'll also learn a bit about the science behind it all.

It's not a bad idea to bring an umbrella for this indoor/outdoor attraction. The sun can be quite bright, so it's a good idea to wear a light jacket or long-sleeved shirt or sweater.

Friday Night Non-Scares

Unlike most home haunts, this one does have a couple of "non-scare" nights. Those are typically on Fridays and can be very family friendly, but they are also more chill than other nights.

The staff and owners of Spooky Hollows are all local, and they do a wonderful job of making this place feel like part of the community. They also make sure to donate money to the community, so this is a place that not only scares but also helps out the local community.
