Grace Community Church

 

Grace Community Church is a non-denominational evangelical megachurch founded in 1956 and located in Sun Valley, a neighborhood of Los Angeles. They have two morning worship services with 3,500 seats and dozens of fellowship groups led by lay leaders. The church also offers short-term mission opportunities.

The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus Christ is the ultimate leader of the church (Ephesians 4:15-16) and that the church should be overseen by elders and deacons (Titus 1:7; Acts 14:23). Our senior pastor is John MacArthur, and he leads our worship services with a focus on expository preaching of the Scriptures.

He also hosts our weekly podcast called The Grace to You. He has written many books and is the featured teacher in our media ministry.

Our mission is to make disciples by evangelism, discipleship, church planting and strengthening, leadership training, and Bible translation. Our aim is to make sure that the work of the Great Commission is done in all nations, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We are a Reformed Protestant church, which is a denomination of Protestant Christians that hold to the teachings of John Calvin and the Reformed theology. We are committed to teaching the Lordship Salvation doctrine as outlined in our Doctrine Statement and Distinctives.

A Reformed church is a Protestant church that holds to the Reformed theology of John Calvin and the church discipline of sin as defined by Matthew 18. The Reformed church also believes that all believers have equal access to God's grace through Christ and that all followers of Christ are equally saved and in the same position before God.

Our Mission is to equip, send and shepherd our missionaries as they endeavor to make disciples of all nations by evangelism, discipleship,church planting and strengthening, leadership training, and Bible translating through the local church unto the glory of God through Jesus Christ.

The church focuses on short-term mission opportunities worldwide to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their STM team members lead worship, teach, and minister to the people they serve, while also engaging in other forms of outreach. These teams are a vital part of the church’s mission to reach all nations, and we welcome you to partner with them by helping support their ministry efforts financially.
